Men's Novice A Crew

[MNA]
This is the M1 crew going out to meet Jesus. Their start was, as practiced, steady rather than screaming and set them up to easily row through to a win that would have been given a verdict of 'easily' by even the most impartial of observers. The guys put in a superb performance on day 1, rowing very technically and steadily once out in front so as to save their guns for the more serious opposition of Merton A tomorrow.

Women's Novice A Crew

[WNA]

Here are the Women's crew going out to obliterate the St Anne's girls that can just be seen in the back ground. Giving the opposition a sporting chance, by stopping half way up the green banks for a little blade and seat adjustment, the girls thought they would make things more interesting, but in truth it was another case of Catz leaving a much weaker crew so far behind that no one would sensibly choose to race against them. As the picture shows, the girls were very relaxed while as they went out to join the fight.

The rest of the crews were as impressive as they were successful. The quality of the novice crews this year is pretty outstanding and it seems that only Pembroke can match our record of winning all of our round one races. The MCR boat looked very strong against their opposition - again, winning easily - while M2 ended up racing themselves as their corpus opposition, seemingly seeing the writing on the wall, gave up before the end of the green banks.
