Catz entry in the Open Coxed 4+. Report from Malcolm Spencer:
It was a last minute boat that I managed to organise, so we were just planning on going out for a last bit of fun before the end of term. (Which we certainly managed with the great weather and eventful lineup changes)

The original lineup had been: Ralf Schneider (B), Malcolm Spencer, Dominik Moser, Darren Chadwick (S) and Mike Tran (C)

Unfortunately Darren was forced to pull out at the last minute, so we had a dash to recruit a replacement this morning. Fortunately Rose from St Hildas kindly offered to cox allowing Mike to Stroke the first race. This was against St Johns B, who we managed to beat by half a length of clear water. [County Side]

The second race (Quarter finals) was against St Johns A who we beat by an even great margin, a good length of clear water. For this race though, Mike reverted once more to the coxes seat and Clare Shakespeare arrived on the scene to take over in the stroke seat. [County Side]

For the Semi-Finals we came kept the lineup the same but unfortunately were drawn the city side and therefore well in the stream. We were against Jesus and unfortunately the aggressive coxing needed to get us closer the bank resulted in a clash and our loss of the lead. We were eventually disqualified anyway and Jesus went on to win in the final.

A great afternoon's rowing all the same!
