    • Web Page showing daily maps of cloud top height based on L1 Cloud Index data.
  • Lab measurement of PAN cross-section in progress
  • Potential for HCFC-22 retrievals [Poster] (David Moore)
IMK
  • Orbit 2081 showed a reduction in most trace gas concentrations at 30degN, ascending and descending orbits.
  • Low altitude values of CH4 and N2O probably 10-20% higher than expected tropospheric values.
  • Also retrieving CFC-12, ClONO2, N2O5
  • Retrieving absolute altitude for comparison with MIPAS pointing
  • IMK/IAA posters/presentations
IAA/IMK
IFAC
  • Level 2 near real time analysis of MIPAS measurements on ENVISAT: updated performance assessment [Presentation] (Piera Raspollini)

  • First validation of MIPAS O3, H2O and NO2 with collocated measurements from satellite sensors HALOE and SAGE II - [Poster] (Astrid Bracher)
    Summary:
    • H2O MIPAS - HALOE:
      • Before Nov 13th (1.3-45mb): MIPAS +5 to +15%
      • After Nov 13th (1-100mb): MIPAS -3 to +15%
    • O3 MIPAS - HALOE:
      • Before Nov 13th (1.7-45mb): MIPAS +4 to +11 %
      • After Nov 13th (1.7-45mb): MIPAS +3 to +10 %
    • O3 MIPAS - SAGE II:
      • Before Nov 13th (0.45-45mb): MIPAS +2 to +15 %
      • After Nov 13th (1-70mb): MIPAS -3 to +10 %
    • NO2 MIPAS - HALOE (1.5-25mb) (using photochemical model to allow for diurnal difference)
      • MIPAS +5 to +40 % (and large scatter except at SZA~90deg)
BIRA
Presentation from Quentin Errera comparing MIPAS and HALOE using data assimilation, but his conclusions were that
  • MIPAS H2O too low
  • MIPAS NO2 about right
Chiara will contact Quentin and get some numbers from him

REC Analysis (AD) [Prev] [Next]
Performing REC analysis on 7 months ESA L2 data (Aug-Feb) for MIPAS Cal/Val report.
