Large increase in IDU errors, so resting for a week. Prior to that MIPAS was functioning normally, measuring for 4-5 orbits per day. ["Please be informed that the MIPAS operation was interrupted starting on 01 March, 22:24 UTC, for the investigation of an unexpected increase in instrument anomalies. MIPAS will return to operation on 10 March, 11:53 UTC."]

FTP site is back up (ftp-ops.de.envisat.esa.int). The BADC seems to be mirroring the Reduced Resolution data - as of the end of last week there was a day from both Jan 06 and Feb 06.

HiRDLS Comparisons (CW) [Prev] [Next]
Managed to make RFM model and HIRDLS radiances match to the point where a formal comparison can be made (as as performed for direct MIPAS / HIRDLS radiance comparisons).

TES/MIPAS/ODIN/ACE Comparisons (CP,JH) [Prev] [Next]
(CP) Working on O3 and T report for comparisons with ACE.
(CP) Calculating the delta-value (ratio of isotope w.r.t. original isotope vs. the sea level ratio) for O3 isotopes. This is being compared with ODIN values.
(JH) Trying to match RFM with measurements for whole band instead of just microwindows.
(JH) Getting to grips with ACE data files.

2RR Microwindows (ie 0.0625cm-1 resln) (AD) [Prev] [Next]
The extended set of MWs (11) are almost complete. Waiting on F12 to converge.

NOx (JW) [Prev] [Next]
Looking in the literature for more information on NO2 / N2O5 etc reactions and kinetics. Running NO2 and N2O5 on the cluster for 5 days / month June - December 2003.

L2 validation (AB) [Prev] [Next]
Working on updates to the routine monitoring of L2 data. Recalculating the residuals, OM stats, etc. for v4.61 and v4.62 ESA L2. See [here] (updates still in progress). Finally got the REC tool working in a fully automated manner.
