SO2 (EC) [Prev] [Next]

Finally managed to run SO2 iterative retrieval at CEDA. Processed data from Badabunga (Iceland) eruption end of 2014. Wondering how to validate the data, height in particular.

CH4 (DK) [Prev] [Next]

Getting CH4 processor running in NRT, using ECMWF + Eumetcast IASI. Compared with standard retrieval using ECMWF reanalysis and 'archived' IASI data.

O3 (JW) [Prev] [Next]

IASI+ MHS ozone retrieval. Comparison with sondes.

Also making IASI TIR CH4 netCDF compliant for archiving.

Ash (CH) [Prev] [Next]

Working on ash flag. Running in NRT although not public. Problem is that it uses statistics based on subset to determine anomalous ash threshold. But IASI NRT has limited number of measurements so limited statistics to determine threshold. Current bug is that same optical depth (-1.3) always returned.

OCS (TV) [Prev] [Next]

Linear and iterative versions. Now uses selected channels to reduce size of measurement vector - improves linear and nonlinear retrievals. Tried including more surface temperature contrast in ensemble for linear atmospheres, but gives artificial SST-dependent structures over the ocean so perhaps just restrict to use over land.

RFM (AD) [Prev] [Next]

Working on RFM for irregular output grid plus other minor mods such as gfortran warnings.
