Except for a heavy snowstorm, which reduced visibility to a few yards, just after Division III of the Oxford University Torpids had rowed over, the weather was fine for the first day of the races. There was a hard struggle for the headship between New College and Christ Church, and the former retained their position by only 6 ft. There were altogether 12 bumps. [List of bumps]
The weather was bitterly cold for the second day of the Oxford University Torpid races yesterday, when 11 bumps were recorded. In the lower division Trinity II crew, who had gone up on each of the previous nights, rose four places by means of a bump in Division IV and an overbump in Division III.There was a repetition of the previous two nights' racing for the headship of Division I, Christ Church again finishing a few feet behind New College. In Division II a protest was made on Saturday by St. Catherine's II [presumably I] against Hertford, and they re-rowed yesterday, St. Catherine's gaining a bump. There was a further dispute yesterday between Jesus and Merton in the same division, and they are ordered to re-row this morning [List of bumps]

Christ Church went to the Head of the river on the fifty day of the Oxford University Torpids yesterday. For four nights they had made unsuccessful attempts, but a splendid effort along the Wall enabled them to catch New College less than 100 yards from the winning post. It is some years [1925] since they have achieved this distinction. It was not found necessary to re-row Monday's race between Jesus and Merton, over which there was a disputed bump, since Jesus acknowledged the bump, while in Division III on Monday Exeter II acknowledged a bump against [sic] Brasenose College II which was also allowed. There were 10 bumps in all yesterday, making a total for the five days of 59. The bumps were:—
